Why Pointed Noses Are Seen as More Desirable Than Round or Bulbous Ones

A bulbous or rounded nasal tip is a key factor contributing to a less desirable nose due to a lack of definition. A more defined and projecting nasal tip is generally preferred.

A bulbous or rounded nasal tip lacks definition, and it can contribute to a perception of increased width and prominence, impacting the overall balance of the face. The structure of the underlying cartilage and skin influences the tip’s shape, with subtle angles and contours desired for aesthetic appeal.

Width and Prominence: A bulbous tip can make the nose look wider and more prominent. There is a general preference for a less prominent and smaller nose.

Aesthetics: A bulbous tip lacks the subtle angles and contours of an aesthetically pleasing nose. A slight depression in the supratip area is considered desirable, especially in women. The ideal nasal tip should have a triangular shape with gentle curves and visible facets in the soft triangle.
