You have Oblong Face Shape?

If you have oblong face shape, you know, you look like Hilary Swank for your face shape. Unique oblong shape. You know, the best hairstyle that matches your look are bob and lob styles, and you can never go wrong when you add bangs to it. The lob is basically a long bob that ends just around the shoulder level, but it does sound even more chic when called a lob than a long bob…Don’t you think?.. Ha! Well, you can do either of these styles with medium, long and mid-neck length hair. You can also do the bob with short hair, but I do not care too much for that as I prefer having hair falling on the face when it comes to oblong face shapes as it softens the features. But if you dared to go for a short hairstyle you can get really long bangs which can be side swept across the face to make your face look shorter.

For medium length and mid-neck hairstyles, you could get a shaggy bob with a side parting, the hair is done with short gentle waves; you would have that slightly unkempt look but that is the trendy look these days. And when volume is added to the hair it takes the focus away from the longness of the face and makes the focal point the eyes, nose and lips; which we can even add more emphasis to when we talk about the sexy make-up you’re gona be wearing, wink wink! Now, you could also get a textured bob with short layers at the back all the way to the chin area and then sign the look off with bangs. You could also get a short bob or even a curly short bob with a bit of the hair at the front slightly covering the forehead as the hair is swept to the side of the face; this is a perfect way to soften the face and minimize the long features.

For a long hairstyle you could add soft waves to the hair, bangs that can be swept to the side of the face and layers added, which not only adds bounce to the hair but increases the width; hence gives the illusion of a round face shape.

A general rule to follow when doing a long hairstyle and you are blessed with an oblong face shape is to stick to loose waves or curls; side or central parting is fine depending on your preference, but the most important thing is that it adds width to your face which also gives the illusion of a thinner face.

When it comes to your make-up darling, we have to step it up because you are worth it, more than L’Oréal…and I mean that. SO! What we are going to do is

make your face look shorter and broader by using bronzer to contour your face.

We are going to contour your forehead or your chin in order to soften the sharpness of either side hence giving your face a softer round look. Use bold colours for your eyeshadow to draw attention to your seductive eyes, and don’t be shy with adorning them with sexy extra long eyelashes; which all add to softening the features of your face. If you already have long eyelashes then no need to add extras, just double up on the curling. Highlight the apples or tops of your cheek to widen the look of your face; the apples of your cheeks are the part of your cheeks that extend outwards when you are laughing or smiling. Natural lip colours always go well on an oblong face shape as it is subtle and does not accentuate the strong jawline.

Finally, your sunglasses babe will be the final thing that will pull your whole look together. And the shades that will do this are sunglasses that are wider or have square frames which will make your face look shorter as well as add width to it. Short and narrow frames are not what you want for your gorgeous face hun as they will do the opposite.

Now, you see how easy it is to find hairstyles, make-up and shades to go with an oblong face shape? Most people would think on a woman it would take a lot of work to get what looks right, but as long as you remember to accentuate your eyes and cheekbones, wear a hairstyle that softens your face and adds width to it, and apply that same rule to the shades you wear, you’ve done bagged your Prince Charming, that’s if he hasn’t snapped you up already.
